Bourne Shines Indians Win

The Cleveland Indians surprised their fans, and most of the baseball world this offseason with a few out-of-character free agent signings this offseason.  One of them being centerfielder Michael Bourne.  While Bourne has not had the best of seasons statistically, he has been a huge contributor down the stretch, and tonight was a great example of that.  In a dogfight of a game, down 3-0 early the Indians fought their way back to a 5-3 victory over their division rivals in Kansas City thanks in large part to an RBI triple and a solo home run off the bat of Michael Bourne.  It was a gutsy performance that showed the heart of this team coming off a bad 7-1 loss the night before on the road, and in an important game.  After getting down early the Tribe scored 5 unanswered to setup a save situation that Chris Perez delivered beautifully by way of a leadoff groundout, and two strikeouts.  Another win and the Tribe inches closer to that wildcard playoff birth.  The playoffs are right around the corner, and right now it looks like the Indians will be there.
