Even though I try to stay impartial when it comes to NFL teams I always seem to gravitate towards my beloved Dallas Cowboys. I cannot help it. It's like watching a train wreck and a burning building at the same time.
Every time I get ready to drop them like a bad habit I have that little voice in my head saying "don't lose heart, Romo will come through, Miles Austin will play a full season and Jerry won't screw up the draft".
But I fear that all of my prayers and voodoo magic have fell on deaf ears. In reality the Cowboys have been a 500 team for the last 13 seasons and the last time they won a super bowl I was a junior in college. Which wouldn't be so bad except I will be 40 this November!
Worse than that I don't know how they can get better because they keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Poor draft picks, holding on to "quality" players too long and always seeming to collapse in the most crucial part of big-time games.
Perhaps the only true remedy is to boycott the boys and stop supporting a franchise that only wants to be America's Team when it comes to ticket and merchandise sales.
Would love to hear what someone else thinks about this topic.
