To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets'Question

To Trade Revis Or Not To Trade Revis? That Is The New York Jets' Question

I hope you're sitting down for this, but Darrelle Revis is still in the news. Rex Ryan spoke to the New York Post today and was quoted as saying, “I know for a fact that we’re not actively trying to trade Darrelle Revis." I love that he went with the full-name to show how serious he is.

But Rex, why have all of the stories from Jets camp been focused on trading Darrelle? Why did I hear about Tampa Bay deciding whether or not it was worth trading a first round pick for Darrelle? They wouldn't do that unless there was some sort of chatter going on between teams. Sounds fishy and circus-y, but that is par for the course as far as Gang Green goes. As an unapolegetic Jets fan, I really don't care. We literally need all the help we can get.

By my count, the Jets have unloaded most of the linebackers on the roster, lost their top safety, are in the process of trading their best player, have Tim Tebow, David Garrard, Mark Sanchez on the roster and are actively looking at Kevin Kolb. I'm no mathematician, but if you add all of those quarterbacks together it equals something you do NOT want to trot out on week one. Oh wait, the Jets signed Raiders' third string running back Mike Goodson to a three year contract. Everything's going to be fine.

Keep Revis or trade him, this team has a quite a few holes to fill.
